At this time, Cassie has demonstrated the ability to both increase and decrease in size at will. Her exact limits are as yet undetermined, but they are definitely linked to her emotional state, as her anger has caused her to increase on a few occasions.

Background / History:
Cassie Lang is the daughter of the second adventurer known as Ant-Man, the Avenger named Scott Lang. Scott originally became a hero to help Cassie, who suffered with a heart defect.

With Ant-Man as a parent, Cassie encountered the world’s greatest heroes on a consistent basis. Scott’s time as an engineer for the Fantastic Four brought Cassie to the team’s then-headquarters of Four Freedom’s Plaza, a place she and her father called home for a while. During their stay, Cassie forged a strong friendship with the former ward of Dr. Doom, Kristoff Vernard, and helped him adjust to life outside of Doom’s castle. Over time, she developed a crush on the boy.

When the Fantastic Four went missing, Scott was unemployed and took a position at Oracle, Inc. with the Heroes for Hire. There, Cassie met more heroes and had further adventures. Accidentally activating the Super-Adaptoid, she received horrifying visions of future happenings. The Heroes for Hire defeated the Adaptoid, and Cassie’s participation in these dark events helped her father and his allies defeat the Master in a battle for the fate of the Earth itself. All of these exciting adventures gave Cassie a thirst for the action-filled life of a super-hero, but it caused her mother, Peggy Rae Burdick, to take sole custody from Scott. Peggy harbored a growing resentment toward super-human heroes. The new living arrangements were a big adjustment for both Scott and Cassie. Limited, supervised visits caused Scott to join the Avengers to occupy his free time. As Cassie grew older, she admired her father’s successes as an Avenger and wanted to follow in his footsteps by becoming a hero.

Cassie went through a traumatic kidnapping, being taken from her school and held hostage by a deranged individual who threatened to harm her. Her father risked his life to save her and nearly took the life of the crazed man. In the end, Scott’s teammate Jack of Hearts avenged Cassie, at the cost of his own life. Scott was incinerated when Jack suddenly exploded, leaving only skeletal remains of Ant-Man for burial. This event caused the Avengers to disband and go their separate ways.

Soon after the Avengers disbanded, a group dubbed the Young Avengers appeared on the scene. Not long after their first public adventure, Cassie sought out and found the four teen boys - - Iron Lad, Patriot, Hulkling, and Asgardian - - and confronted them in front of the remains of Avengers Mansion. To her surprise, she discovered that she was able to grow to enormous heights with a mere thought. Unknown to her family and friends, Cassie had been secretly taking Pym Particles and gained size-control powers which manifested at this confrontation.

With the intention of becoming “The New Ant-Man”, Cassie wore her father’s uniform to earn her place with the Young Avengers. Taking the name “Stature”, now she is constantly trying to balance home, school, and heroics. It is an exciting time for her, but her role as Stature is bitter sweet, because she feels she is betraying her mother Peggy in a sense by becoming the very thing that Peg hates the most.
