Powers / Abilities:
Hawkeye has trained himself to become an expert archer with near-perfect accuracy. He practices a minimum of two hours per day to keep his skills honed. He has also had extensive training as an aerialist and acrobat, and personal tutoring by Captain America in hand-to-hand combat. Hawkeye possesses very keen eyesight and exceptional reflexes.
At one point in time, Hawkeye was 80% deaf in both ears, due to a recent incident, but when Franklin Richards brought the heroes back to reality, he restored them the way he remembered them, so the Wasp was restored as a human instead of a bug and Hawkeye could hear instead of being mostly deaf.
Background / History:
Clint Barton's parents were killed in an automobile accident when he was 8 years old, and he and his older brother were placed in a state orphanage. At 14, Clint and Barney Barton ran away to join a traveling carnival. There, Clint apprenticed himself to the carnival's star attraction, the mysterious rogue known only as the Swordsman. Recognizing Clint's natural flair for archery, the Swordsman agreed to tutor him in the art. For four years, the youngster practiced with the bow and arrow eight hours a day. Soon, he became good enough to perform professionally as a trick-shooter under the name Hawkeye the Marksman.
After witnessing the armor-clad Iron Man in action, Barton decided to emulate the hero by donning a colorful costume and using his archery skills to fight crime. But during his first public appearance, Hawkeye was mistaken for a thief and found himself battling the adventurer who had inspired his efforts. Weeks later, his attraction to the Russian spy called Black Widow led him to commit further criminal acts. However, Iron Man soon learned of Hawkeye's true intentions and sponsored him for membership in the Avengers, Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Hawkeye served as an active member of the Avengers for years, his archery skills complimenting the superhuman powers of his associates. During one of his frequent leaves of absence from the team, he married fellow crimefighter Mockingbird. Upon his return, Hawkeye was appointed chairman of a second squad of Avengers based on the West Coast.
Later, Clint was commissioned to train a group of rebels known as the Shadows along with Sundance and Striker. He attempted to keep them from killing, but on one raid Striker killed a woman and injured her fiance, a friend of James Rhodes. As War Machine, Rhodes was surprised to see Hawkeye among the rebels, and even more so when a government backed group led by USAgent also arrived. The three were able to stop the conflict and were confronted by the mysterious Advisor.
After years fighting alongside the Avengers, Hawkeye offered to lead the Thunderbolts. Sympathetic to their plight as criminals trying to redeem their past actions, he decided to help them become a legitimate superhero team. Clint also became romantically involved with Moonstone (Karla Sofen).Shortly after rejoining the Avengers, Clint was thought to have perished on an exploding Kree ship created by a crazed Scarlet Witch.
Hawkeye showed up alive once more in the Scarlet Witch's mutant-dominated alternate reality, with no memory of the reality before. When a young mutant gave several of the heroes the ability to remember the way the world once was, Clint and the others were horrified at what the Scarlet Witch had done. With his memory restored, Hawkeye remembered the events his own death. When the heroes confronted the Witch and her children, Hawkeye angrily shot her in the back, demanding to know why she had killed him, as he was her friend and had only love for her. One of the Witch's children made Hawkeye vanish into nothingness with just a thought. After reality was restored several heroes arrived at the ruined Avengers Mansion after a report that someone had been there, only to find Clint's costume and a newspaper cutting about his death, pinned to the ruins by Hawkeye's trademark purple arrows.

Hawkeye wields a number of custom-made bows, and carries a quiver containing various gadget-laden trick arrows.
Hawkeye uses a wide variety of arrows, many of which are custom-built with devices to enhance their effectiveness in crimefighting. Hawkeye's quiver has the capacity to carry 36 arrows. Twelve of the arrows have standard target-point arrowheads, six have 3-bladed broadheads, and the remaining eighteen have various custom tips. Hawkeye has recently developed a modular arrowhead system whereby certain custom arrowheads can be attached to the shafts of any standard target-point arrow to convert them for special use.
